| | | There is no magic wand, pill to take or quick fix for that which has gone so wrong in our world. I am a nurse and was a teacher. Thanks to my love of nursing and teaching, I can touch the lives of many people young and old. I hope that every nurse and teacher who visits here will write their story on the Message Board about the changes they have, will or are endeavoring to make in the people of our troubled world AND how they intend to make those changes take place. A very small example of changing the insanity of our world would be supporting a child in Sierra Leone (where I taught for two years). | | | We have seen such amazing changes in the media. For example, television commercials in order to appeal more visually to consumers, in no time adapted visuals as graphic as that which was previously only aired in commercials on stations like MTV™. Next the ads, not to mention product packaging, began to promote manufacturers' web sites. These changes, and more importantly the rate at which they took place, tell us that consumers are a powerful force. Percentage wise the women in American control and spend over eight-five percent of the dollars in America. It's been said by some that America will fail because it has turned from God - I counter that it will succeed, as sadly the dollar has become godlike in America. So, I challenge women in America to create and join in a national consumers group that would control the power that the dollar has. Such a group could wield awesome power. I would love to see such a group create a wave of positive actions that could break over America and the world, both of which are upside down in insane and negative thought ... T.M.
